Journey to my MBA ...
Greetings world, I am a grandfather in the process of finding out what to "be" during the second half of my existence. Since I believe the second half is just as important as the first half, I decided to start the journey with the attainment of an MBA. Something I did not obviously do during the first half.
I enjoy the diversity out there, "ALL OF IT". The discussions, disagreements, foods, dances, we truly have become a salad bowl society. Also as our world has flattened reaching out to each other is just a click away, making all we do tied together into one big mess. Many changes have already begun and you can't run away from it.
So as I move forward studying, I plan to enjoy the interactions with others in a progressive, cohesive existence, these dynamics will be interesting ... especially in the work place. This is one of the reasons I decided to study Human Resource Management as part of my MBA curriculum.
As a society we usually we hide from these dynamics, we cling to what we know and are familiar with. Nothing wrong with that, since it has worked for so long. However as we consider work force diversity within organizations and the various impacts already happening, and affecting how we do business to sustain our global position is really exciting. It's all up to us, we are in the mist of some very important changes, whether we realize it or not.
So far as a country we haven’t handled these challenges too well … but I have faith in our society, especially in our youth … so I look forward to learning from my colleagues, young/old, tall/short, stateside/overseas … let’s do this together, pleasure to meet you all.
Nice to meet you too, Ismael.
